Where are you from?
West Olive, Michigan
Favorite summer activity?
My favorite summer activity is Jeeping at Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
What's something about you that people might be surprised to learn?
People might be surprised that I have a small business where I design and create handmade jewelry.
What are your current career ambitions?
My current career ambitions are to positively impact others through human-centered and sustainable design in residential interior design.
Calyn Poore

Going to the beach
What's something about you that people might be surprised to learn about you?
I have always loved and wanted to pursue interior design but it’s actually my second career - prior I spent 15 years as a professional nanny and household manager.
What are some of your architectural and design influences?
My influences and inspiration are constantly evolving but right now I’m really influenced by Justina Blakeney and her eclectic style.
What are your current career ambitions?
After having the opportunity to intern at Via, I am leaning toward a career in residential design. My ultimate career “dream” is to design children’s bedrooms, nurseries, and playrooms - there is nothing quite like the look of excitement and joy on a child’s face when they see their new space designed just for them!

Favorite summer activity?
Going to the beach and hiking with friends and family.
What's something about you that people might be surprised to learn about you?
I was on the equestrian team in high school.
What are some of your architectural and design influences?
One of my major design influences is art nouveau, and I am fascinated with Antoni Gaudi's work.
What are your current career ambitions?
To graduate in 2 years with my bachelor's degree and start my own interior design firm one day.

I have two rescue dogs named Holly and Heidi

Zaha Hadid, Frida Escobedo, and Studio Gang
What are your current career ambitions?
To join the small percentage of licensed female architects and to help it grow.

Working on my cars and going to the beach with friends

I know 2 languages and I'm currently learning French and Russian

I love Frank Lloyd Wright's work and his prairie style has always influenced my projects.
What are your current career ambitions?
At the moment I am unsure but I am still exploring options.
